Suspension of Burn Permits and Station Access

Ocean Shores Fire Department

To help control the spread of COVID-19, our Firefighters are disinfecting the Ocean Shores fire station and equipment to maintain the fire department’s health and readiness.  We are asking the community to assist us by refraining from unnecessary visits to our fire station until further notice.

Starting to 03/14/2020, we will temporary suspend providing burn permits to the public.  The aid room will continue be available to the public for 911 medical emergencies, although the fire department requests residents refrain from coming into the aid room for any non- emergency blood pressure checks.

We will also ask that:

  • If sick (fever/cough) PLEASE STAY HOME.

  • Cover your sneeze or cough with a tissue or your arm.

  • Wash your hands and/or use alcohol-based sanitizer often throughout the day.

  • Get in the habit of NOT touching your face so often.

  • Clean your work area at least once, ideally, twice a day. Don’t forget phones, keyboards, and door handles.

  • Forgo the handshake for a wave or an “elbow bump”.

  • Eat healthy, stay hydrated, and get plenty of rest.

We want the people of Ocean Shores to know that the Ocean shores Fire Department is still your fire department!  The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation is continually changing our daily routines.  The City of Ocean Shores is and will continue to proactively monitor public health information for any and all potential implications for our community.
